Alberta issues NOIs to 471 Federal Express Entry (FEE) candidates with CRS scores as low as 303 to apply for a provincial nomination

The recent draws for the Alberta province have opened doors of opportunities to foreign immigrants seeking resettlement and migration in Alberta. On the 17th of July, the region notified about 251 express entry candidates with CRS scores of 400 and above. Afterward, it invited, on the 24th of July, 220 candidates via the NOI, with the least invitee having a score as small as 303.

The Notification of Interest was sent to these candidates through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) to federal express entry candidates that meet the minimum requirements for the selection. These candidates will thereof, proceed to apply for a permanent residency via a provincial nomination.

The first AINP draw was launched in 2018, and since then, the province has sent NOIs to 5,063 within 26 draws.

The fundamental motive of the program is to permit the applicant with the required skills and occupations necessary to develop the province and its environs.

One of the eligibility requirements to qualify for the AINP program is to have a well-represented express entry profile. Candidates do not require any work experience or employment offer in Canada or Alberta to apply. However, having these can be an added advantage to boost your FEE profile.

Another factor is that candidates must have an express entry profile with at least 300 CRS ranking score. Also, AINP gives more preference to candidates with an educational history in Canada or has a direct relative residing in Canada.

What are the factors that can prevent you from receiving an NOI from Alberta?

    1. If you have an Express Entry profile that is likely to expire within three months from the date of the draw
    2. If you are filing a profile with occupations that are not eligible in the Alberta Opportunity Stream

Nevertheless, the good news is that the province invites candidates whose score are quite lower than that of the Federal Express Entry system. The latest AINP draw benchmark for the 24th of July was 303, but the minimum score recorded in the FEE pool since the beginning of the year is 438.

What is the way forward, and how do I get a perfect profile?

It is not enough to have a profile in the federal express entry pool; a provincial nomination signifies an additional 600 points to your CRS score.
