Canada admission targets are set to rise through Express Entry and Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs) according to the immigration levels plan of 2024-2026. The annual immigration plan was released by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada), which oversees permanent residency applications in Canada. According to the three-year immigration plan unveiled on November 1, over one lakh admissions are targeted through leading economic immigration programs Express Entry and PNPs yearly.
Last year, immigration targets through PNP exceeded Canada Express Entry targets as the top economic immigration pathway. Every Canadian province and territory operates PNP programs, excluding Quebec and Nunavut.
According to the CIC news, PNPs across Canada send invitations to 83,500 new permanent residents in Canada in 2022. The Immigration Levels Plan for 2023-2025 also showed that IRCC’s PNP target will increase to 105K in 2023. In that plan, the targets for 2024 and 2025 were set at 110K and 117,500, respectively.
The 2024-2026 Immigration Levels Plan (2024-2026) released by the IRCC shows that Express Entry is set to reclaim the top spot among economic immigration pathways in Canada. However, Express Entry targets will top only in 2024. For 2025 and 2026, current admissions targets have Canada’s PNP slated to be tops among all economic immigration pathways in this country.
Below are the number of admissions Canada targets under Express Entry and the country’s PNPs according to the 2024-2026 Immigration Levels Plan.
